Leave Kathmandu and drive to Machha Khola (900m/2,953ft), a 9-hour drive away, where the road alternates between smooth and bumpy sections.
You will see terraced fields, rivers, small towns, and villages, as well as small bridges crossing streams. On the way, you’ll also get to see Aroghat bazaar and Soti khola.
Tonight you will sleep in Machha Khola village next to the Budhi Gandaki River. On this day, trekkers will drive out of the city to less crowded places.

The trek starts from Machha Khola on foot. After breakfast, you walk uphill and downhill to Khorla Besi village. You can see the Ganesh Himal mountain as you ascend and pass the Tatopani hot springs.
You’ll reach Tatopani while travelling continuously along the banks of the Budhi Gandaki. The route can tighten here as you’ll get to see dense forest. Then, you’ll navigate narrow mule tracks, pass Doba, and ascend toward Lauri.
Finally, this day, all trekkers will sleep in Jagat, a small town by the river.

Small villages along the way will amaze you on the second day of your walk. You will see the Shringi Himal mountain appearing and disappearing all day, leaving you wanting to see it more.
Passing through Shirdibas and Philim villages, you’ll reach Chisapani around midday. This place has good views of the hills. The area has farms and Tibetan culture.
Moreover, the fellow trekkers who want to go to Tsum Valley need to take the right side from Lokpa. You have to pass several small villages before reaching Deng (1,860m/6,102ft), where you will sleep and rest for the day.

Today, you start early for an uphill walk to Namrung. As you go higher, the mountain views become better and more peaceful.
Small villages like Gaun, Bibi Phedi, Ghap, and Ghapsay offer a glimpse into how Tibetan people live in the mountains. You will see Buddhist prayers carved on large stones, known as mani stones. The quiet surroundings give you energy for the challenging walk while keeping you motivated.

The Manaslu Peak, Himchuli, and Shringi Himal mountains on the trail from Namrung to Lho Gaun offer a mesmerizing view. The land changes, and you see how mountain people live in Lihi and Sho villages.
Ribung Gompa is home to over 150 children studying Buddhist philosophy and primary education. You can visit this monastery if you wish, or alternatively, you can go directly to Shyala (3180m/10,433ft) village, which is surrounded by large hills. This is where you will sleep and rest tonight.

Today, you will wake up at Shyala, one of the most beautiful places in the Manaslu area.
On the way, we can see Green Lake, a stunning, emerald-green glacial lake. Then, we will gradually ascend through the Pung Gyen Glaciers and walk across the Numla Khola, which is notable for its location near the Tibetan border.
You can also see Pung Gyen Gompa monastery, a prominent Buddhist monastery, to immerse yourself in spiritual and natural beauty.
Now, you will reach Samagaun town after a short trek, where you can rest for the rest of the day. If you're still energetic, you'll have time to explore the local area

This day is designed for rest and allowing your body to get used to the high altitude. Samagaon offers numerous attractions such as Mt. Manaslu and Himalchuli for travelers seeking to explore.
Take a short day hike to Birendra Taal lake, which is named after the Late King Birendra of Nepal. A more challenging trek to Manaslu Base Camp, at 4895 meters, is suitable for those seeking an even greater adventure.
In Samagaun, you can visit Labrang Gompa or Kargya Chholing monastery, where monks do blessing ceremonies for all climbers. You’ll observe a simple lifestyle rich in spirituality and tradition in the Nubri region of Nepal.

After your stay in Samagaun, you will feel refreshed and ready to climb higher. Manaslu Peak will stay with you on the way to Samdo village.
Samdo Village was founded by Tibetan refugees, reflecting the unique culture and lifestyle of the Bhotia people. Their livelihoods were able to represent the historic Himalayan caravan trade in the village.
The land becomes emptier and rockier at higher elevations, but the rocky terrain has its beauty. If you have time, staying an extra day at Samdo helps you acclimate to the altitude and allows you to visit the Tibetan border.

Today's trail takes you up and down through the rivers and valleys of the circuit. The seasonal Tibetan market at Larkya Bazaar is your first stop. Here, we’ll also get to see the Syacha glacier, which provides a glimpse into the dramatic glacial landscapes of the Himalayas.
Then you walk beside the Budi Gandaki River, crossing wooden bridges and streams. You walk uphill again through Salka Khola valley until you reach Dharmashala, also known as Larke Phedi, where you sleep. Get enough rest and prepare for tomorrow's climb to Larkya Pass.

This is the most significant day of the trek, during which we walk through the Larkya glaciers to reach the Larkya La Pass. The long climb to Larkya La Pass starts, going through Cho Chanda.
Great views of mountain peaks, including Manaslu, Himlung Himal, Cheo Himal, Annapurna II, Himal Chuli, and Kang Guru surround you. Reaching Larkya La Pass (5,106m/16752 ft) will be the most magical and unforgettable day of the Manaslu Circuit Trek.
There you can take pictures with your loved ones, fellow trekkers, and guides, and prepare to descend.
Green plants will start appearing again when you reach Bhimthang. This is where you sleep tonight after climbing 5106 meters. This is the momentous day on the trek, making all the effort worthwhile.

Most of the mountains, such as Manaslu, Cheo Himal, and Lamjung Himal, are nearby and still visible as you walk down to the Dudh Khola River. Open grass fields are green everywhere; this view is something you can recall even after you return home.
After crossing a bridge, you reach Kharche village. The excitement from conquering Larkya La Pass becomes calm and peaceful because of the views around you.
